Have we got a fabulous little Yorkshire gem here. Nestling in beautiful North Yorkshire countryside on the outskirts of Ripon is Markington Hall, a beautiful private estate steeped in history, and home to the lastest in a line of Wilberforces the very lovely William and Julie.
The Hall itself stands in a leafy wooded area, with gardens, a pretty little stream and bridge, a woodland area housing three beautiful gypsy caravans, a log cabin kitchen and outdoor food preparation area, a fire pit and a large field area perfect for a Papakata, yurt or marquee or bell tents.
As a wedding and ceremony location it has bags of potential to make your day very special and unique indeed. It is NEW for 2015/16 and we are very excited to be creating the first wedding ceremony there in June next year.
Markington Hall is not licensed, preferring to open their Estate to just a handful of couples each year and work with Celebration Ceremonies & Weddings to create a more personal and unique event.
The estate makes a fabulous outdoor wedding location and is very private and contained, perfect for couples with children. There is also the option for the use of two rooms for the ceremony in the main Hall as a plan B and potential use of the rustic barn.
The gypsy caravans, also available, for hire make it a very quirky addition to the site and perfect for photos, music and evening celebrations around the fire circle.
There are two larger Gypsy caravans Carmen above and Bella below. CarmenBright red with a cream interior and a beautiful red and gold fabric ceiling, when the lanterns are lit in the evening it is like being surrounded by starlight.
Bella has a colourful floral fabric and pine interior with designs in blues and soft pinks and is studded with numerous horse brasses collected over the years. There are intricate details of horses and flowers carved into the woodwork.
Rosita is the baby in the family and is a child sized wagon. It is painted burgundy and the interior is pine with a pretty white and pink rose designed fabric on the ceiling.
